The private Academy for Health and Future (FAGuZ) was founded in 2008 in the area of Heilbronn, Germany, as a response to far-reaching changes in the German health system.

The German health system has recently been exposed to the most radical reshaping in one hundred years. Its greatest challenges are the demographic changes which bring about a decline in resources while at the same time the demand for top-quality medical care remains the same. The demographic changes are characterized by unemployment, an ageing society with a growing life expectancy and an increase in multi-morbidity of their senior citizens, as well as the decline or stagnation of birth rates.

For the time being, we are offering courses in care and nursing services. Increasingly, and concurrently with the expansion of the academy, we will address further occupational groups with specific courses, especially if there is networking potential for certain subjects such as “Dental Health for Senior Citizens”.

The variety of training courses offered will range from traditional and established medical concepts such as wound management or algesiology, to culturally tried and tested expert knowledge, such as grieving, acupuncture or psychotherapy, and even effective and scientifically accepted alternative methods (e.g. osteopathy) or courses in psychohygienic self-care such as supervision.
